Job Description

• Work Schedule: 5 days of RTO max; block scheduling cannot be accommodated.
• Licensure: NY license must be in hand at the time of submission.
• Experience Required:

  • 3 years of prior OR RN experience required.
  • Must be well-rounded in covering cases across all areas and patient diagnoses.
  • Experience in the following areas is required:

    • Bariatrics
    • Vascular
    • ENT
    • Endoscopic Procedures
    • General Surgery
    • Gynecology
    • Neuro
    • Ophthalmology
    • Orthopedics
    • Plastics
    • Podiatry
    • Robotics
    • Urology
    • Emergency management
    • Cell Saver
    • Administration of blood products
    • Infection control
    • Laser safety
    • Radiation safety
    • Specimen handling/labeling
    • Universal Protocol (time out) Procedure
• Call Requirement: 24 hours of call required per month.
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 3+ years of OR experience.
• Locals are not accepted (must be 50+ miles from the facility).
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Scrubs provided.

Certifications and Competencies Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required for all clinical travelers.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Required as applicable.
• State License Verification - Required.
• NURSYS Verification - Required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP.
• Competency Exams - Required as applicable to profession/specialty.
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam - Required as applicable.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam - Required for specific units.
• NY Harassment Prevention Training Certificate - Required annually.
• Physical Exam - Required within 90 days of start.
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray - Required within 90 days of start.
• Drug Testing - Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen required within 90 days of start.
• Flu Vaccine - Required during flu season.
• COVID-19 Vaccination - 2 doses required or medical/religious exemption.

Background and History Requirements

• 7 Year Criminal Background Check - Required within 1 year of start.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM Check - Required within 1 year of start.
• HHS/OIG Check - Required within 1 year of start.
• References - 2 professional references required.
• Employment Application - Required.
• Education Verification - Required to verify highest level of education.
