Unit Details

• Unit: PCU/MS/ED Hold - Float Pool
• Responsibilities:

  • Caring for post-surgical, medical, and PCU stepdown patients on inpatient units and ER as hold patients.
  • Expected to float throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department.

Schedule

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice (ED included)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 2 years

Compliance and Documentation

• Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant, push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
• Required Documents:

  • Photo ID (Driver's License/State ID)
  • Certifications:

    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
    • BLS - Basic Life Support
    • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
    • EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
    • NIH Stroke Certification
  • State License Verification (if applicable)
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
  • Background Check
  • Drug Testing
  • Health Documents (e.g., TB Questionnaire, Vaccination Records)

Health Requirements

• Vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or Declination
  • COVID vaccine or Declination
  • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • Varicella, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers

Additional Information

• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period.
• References: 2 clinical references needed.
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually.
