Assesses patients on admission within specified time frames considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.

Reassesses each patient's health needs based on condition and at least every shift.

Establishes and updates a plan of care for each patient.

Administers medications and assesses effectiveness/untoward effects.

Performs treatments and procedures following nursing practice and hospital policies.

Documents response to care, pain management, discharge planning needs, education progress towards goals, in a legible and accurate manner.

Educates patient/family based on assessed needs using 'Krames' where appropriate.

Analyzes diagnostic data and reports, intervenes appropriately and communicates changes in clinical condition.

Uses SBAR communication for handoffs, demonstrates patient rights consideration, evaluates effectiveness of patient teaching.

Participates in multidisciplinary care planning.

Knows and manages patients in restraints per policy.

Follows National Patient Safety Goals, hospital policy on patient identifiers, Disaster Plan, Life Safety Standards, infection control policies, blood transfusion policy.

Understands Chain of Command and follows Core Measures and Vaccine protocol.

Completes orientation to Life Safety Standards.

Experienced in caring for patients across the age continuum and in performing advanced patient assessments.

Completes the ED skills checklist and exhibits patient flow through ED understanding.

1 year of travel experience.

Experience with trauma.

Experience with EPIC.

Pediatric and Critical Care experience.
