Job Description

- No Chemotherapy Privilege required
Credentialing Requirements
Mandatory Certifications
- BLS: American Heart Association certification required for clinical positions.
- License Verification: Primary source verification of professional license and/or certification required within 30 days of start and updated upon expiration. Temporary licenses are not accepted.
Health Requirements
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Proof of vaccination or approved exemption preferred.
- MMR: Positive titers required from within the last 15 years.
- Fit Test: Completed within 1 year of start.
- Hepatitis B: Proof of vaccination series or signed declination required.
- Varicella: Positive titers required from within the last 15 years.
- Tdap: Proof of vaccination within the past 10 years.
- Annual Negative PPD: Required if 2-step PPD not done within the past year.
- Influenza Vaccine: Proof of vaccination required during flu season or approved exemption.
Professional Requirements
- UHS I-9 Attestation: Completed I-9 or attestation required.
- Background Checks:
- UHS Ohio Fingerprints and National Database Criminal background check required.
- UHS Criminal Background Check Results required within 6 months of start.
- UHS OIG Search required.
- UHS SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC screening required.
Education and Employment Verification
- Education Verification: Highest level of education must be verified.
- Employment Verification: Verification of employment within the last 5 years required.
Skills and Competency
- UHS Skills Checklist: Skill-specific checklist required to be completed within 1 year prior to start.
- UHS Competency Exam: Must score at least 80% on relevant department exams.
- UHS Core Competencies: Must complete within 1 year prior to start.
Additional Requirements
- Physical Exam: Completed within one year of initial start date.
- Driver's License/State ID: Non-expired photo ID required.
- Resume and References: Resume to include education and work history, with 2 professional references required within the last 2 years.

This OR team takes care of their equipment, allows for AM and lunch breaks, and is generally welcoming.
Cons
I experienced several unsafe surgical situations during this contract. Surgeons are not held accountable for bad behavior or bad decision-making, and surgeons tended not to take constructive criticism well. Two surgeons in particular routinely made staff cry and teams had to be switched out of his room. The filters on sterile trays were never checked except by travelers. Inefficiencies everywhere, often cases were not on-time.
