Performs various duties as a member of the health team in the treatment and care of patients and their families.
Assists with tasks to support the unit under the supervision of the RN.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of human growth and development over the life span.
Recognizes data reflective of the patient's status and informs the Registered Nurse of observations.

Job requirements

Must have relevant state licensure for New York.
Experience in Endoscopy or related field preferred.

Additional Details

Takes and monitors vital signs when necessary.
Performs EKG's and assists with medical procedures as required.
Assists with the placement of pulse oximetry and performs routine maintenance/cleaning of equipment and instruments.
Notifies appropriate personnel regarding any malfunction in equipment.
Assists in inventory control for medical supplies.
Sets up oxygen and suction, collects specimens and brings to lab when necessary.
Stocks exam rooms including educational materials.
Retrieves Endoscopy reports from computer system as needed.
Provides instruction and information to patients.
Acts rapidly and calmly during emergencies, initiates CPR and provides necessary items called for the team.
Transports patients and equipment as needed.
