Requirements

• Certifications:

  • ARRT
  • BLS
  • Certified Cardiac Interventional Rad Tech - ARRT (CI)
  • Certified Vascular Interventional Rad Tech - ARRT (VI)
• Experience:

  • Prior Cath Lab or Rad Tech experience required (minimum one year).
  • First-time travelers are acceptable with good experience.

Job Duties

• Rad Techs will scrub and assist the physician, requiring knowledge of sterile technique.
• RNs will circulate, sedate, and complete documentation requirements.

Unit Information

• Number of Suites/Labs: 2
• Average Cases per Day: 10-15
• Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients:

  • Diagnostic left and right heart caths
  • PCI
  • IABP
  • Temporary pacemaker

Scheduling and Call Requirements

• Shifts: Five days per week; start and stop times vary based on scheduled cases.
• On-Call Requirement:

  • One week of on-call per four-week schedule (Monday 7 AM to following Monday 7 AM).
  • Call can be continuous or broken up throughout the schedule.
  • Weekend on-call from Friday after hours until Monday morning at 7 AM.
  • Rotational holiday call.
• Call Response Time: 30 minutes.

Additional Information

• Floating Requirements: No mandatory floating; extra hours available in other units if experienced.
• Dress Code: Surgical attire provided.
• Orientation: General hospital orientation and department-specific training (up to 36 hours).

Submission Guidelines

• Candidates can only be submitted to one WVU position at a time.
• Local travelers (within 50 miles) will not be accepted.
• Candidates cannot have any license hits.
• Previous employees of WVU Medicine must have been gone for 2 years before reapplying through an agency.
