Job Description

• Schedule: Every other weekend
• Patient Population:

  • Critical patients from the Emergency Department (ED) that meet admission criteria
  • Medical-Surgical/Post-Operative and ICU Transfers
  • Vented patients with tracheostomies
  • Patients with arterial lines

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH (National Institutes of Health) Stroke Certification
• Licensure:

  • Maryland or compact RN license
• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Telemetry experience and management of dysrhythmias
• Travelers: First-time travelers accepted

Contract Length

• 14 weeks

    • Physical exam
    • TB test
    • Vaccinations (e.g., Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella)
    • Drug screening

• Competencies:

  • Unit-specific competency exams
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
• Continuing Education Units (CEUs):

  • Stroke and Trauma CEUs required annually
