Job Description

• Responsibilities:

  • BLS
  • O2 protocol management
  • Non-invasive airway management
  • Peripheral line care/management
  • Isolation precaution/PPE
  • Computerized documentation
  • Nurse to patient Ratios: 1:6-8
  • Rapid response team activation

• Experience Required:

  • 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Women's health and Med/Surg Oncology
  • Experience with GYN and Onc patients is needed
  • ONS chemo certification preferred
  • Pediatric experience is not required (very small population)

• Unit Details:

  • Med/Surg unit with central lines, ports, and drains

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Certifications Required

• BLS - Basic Life Support
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (as applicable)
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (as applicable)
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (as applicable)
• CHEMO - Chemotherapy (as applicable)
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (as applicable)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (as applicable)
• NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute (as applicable)

Health Documents Required

• Physical Exam within 12 months of start
• Fit Test required within 1 year of start
• Adult TDAP Vaccine within 10 years of start
• Negative 2-Step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT within 1 year of start
• Vaccine records for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start

Background Check

• 7 Year Background Check within 1 year of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire

• Unit Specific Skills Checklist required annually
• Education Verification required - must verify highest level of education
