Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Telemetry Unit is responsible for delivering safe patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directing and guiding patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintaining standards of care in the Telemetry Unit.
• Communicating with physicians regarding changes in patients' clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring and diagnostic study results.
• Responding quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses.

Qualifications

Required Credentials

1. Current and valid state RN License
2. Current BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross)
3. Current ACLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross)
4. Minimum of 1 year previous Acute Care hospital experience
5. Ventilator Management experience (preferred)
6. COVID vaccination (preferred)
7. Epic EMR experience (preferred)

• Ability to float to units of competency.
• Compliance with various health and safety requirements, including vaccinations and health screenings.

Health and Safety Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Proof of 2 vaccines and booster required or declination completed.
• MMR: Proof of 2 Vaccines or Positive Titer showing immunity.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required from October 1 to May 31, declinations not accepted at certain facilities.
• TB Test: Required.
• Fit Test: Annual respirator fit test required.
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination or declination required.
• Varicella: Vaccination/titer showing immunity required.
• Tdap: Vaccination required, declinations not accepted at certain facilities.

Professional Requirements

• Driver's License/State ID: Required.
• National Criminal Background Check: Required within one year of start date.
• Physical/Health Statement: Must be completed annually.
• Prime Core Competencies Exam: Must score 80% or higher.
• Prime Skills Checklist: Completion required.
• Prime Resume: Submission required.
• References: Two references required.
