Job Description

• Requirements:

  • ACLS/BLS/NIH Certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Epic experience within the last year (must be documented on resume).
  • Must possess an accredited nursing degree (ACEN or CCNE).
  • RTO (Request Time Off) must be submitted at the time of application (maximum of 7 days).
  • No block-scheduling requests accepted.

Health and Safety Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Required for all travelers prior to start. Medical or religious exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis.
• MMR: Titer or 2 adult vaccines required. Negative titer requires two boosters.
• Hepatitis B: Titer or proof of complete vaccines required. Negative titer will require 2 boosters.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required by all travelers from September to April.
• PPD/IGRA: 2 Negative PPDs or negative Q-Gold/Tspot required.
• Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines required.
• Tdap: Must be within 10 years of start.
• Fit Test: Required for all patient-facing positions.
• Health Statement: Pre-employment physical required within the year of start.

Professional Requirements

• BLS: Required for all nurses.
• ACLS: Required.
• Nursys: Nursing license verification required within 30 days of start.
• License/Certificate Verification: Required for state-specific registry.
• Background Checks: Comprehensive criminal background check required.
• Fingerprint Clearance: Ohio FBI and BCI fingerprint attestations required within 12 months of start.

Competency and Skills

• Summa Competency Exam: Unit-specific competency exam required.
• Summa Skills Checklist: Unit-specific skills checklist to be completed and updated annually.
• Summa Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission - NPSG, OSHA topics training required within 90 days of start.

Documentation

• RN Submission Packet: Must be completed and included as the first page of the submission packet.
