Job Description

  • Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, and Newborn care.
  • Floating: Required as needed across various departments.
  • Patient Diagnoses:
    • Labor and Delivery
    • Post Partum
    • OB Triage
    • Antepartum
    • Normal Newborn

Special Procedures

  • Required Skills:
    • Vaginal Delivery and Cesarean Delivery
    • Circulate in OR
    • Start adult IVs
    • Blood/Blood Products Administration
    • Management of drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps
    • Administration of insulin and magnesium sulfate

Equipment and Care

  • Special Equipment:
    • Circulate C/S
    • High Risk Antepartum and L&D
    • LDRP
    • OB-GYN
    • Post-Op/Pre-Op
    • Couplet Care

Certifications Required

  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Additional certifications may include ACLS, BLS, PALS, and EFM.

Staff-to-Patient Ratio

  • 1:1 to 1:3

Additional Information

  • Eligibility: Previous permanent employees of any Providence affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel position.
  • Licensure: Active compact license is honored at all Swedish facilities.
