Employment Details

• Type: Contract Clinician
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; required to work every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Job Description

• General Duties:

  • Care for trach vent patients and provide assessments and day-to-day nursing care in a medical-surgical critical care step-down unit.
  • Manage a 20-bed unit with RN ratios of 3-4 during the day and 4 at night.
  • Care for 3-4 patients daily with various medical/surgical diagnoses.
  • Follow provider orders, document assessments and care plans, and communicate effectively with the care team.

• Equipment Utilized:

  • EPIC computer charting
  • Pyxis for medication dispensing
  • Rover Med Scanners

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in Telemetry nursing.

• Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current Wisconsin or Compact state RN license.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.

• Floating:

  • May float to acute care areas within scope.

Unit Information

• Bed Size: 20 beds
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 4:1 on night shift
• Dress Code: Any color of professional scrubs permitted.

Orientation and Training

• Standard orientation for HR/Epic, followed by 2 shifts of 12-hour orientation on the floor.

Additional Information

• Candidates must disclose if they require time off during the assignment.
• Candidates must be aware that the BID form and Wisconsin Caregiver check must be uploaded within 48 hours after acceptance of the offer.
• Clarification on whether the candidate is a 1099 is required.
