Job Summary

• Responsible for performing high-quality CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
• Requires ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment.

Essential Job Duties

• Ensure proper patient identification and order verification; prepare patients for exams.
• Perform exams according to department protocol.
• Demonstrate understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and anatomical positioning.
• Follow ALARA program and radiation safety protocols.
• Critique own films and complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care.
• Administer oral barium products or intravenous contrast material under physician supervision.
• Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
• Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort.
• Operate all CT equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
• Exhibit knowledge of contrast injectors and laser printers.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, and charging.

Contract Length

• 91 days

Required Skills & Experience

• One year of experience in CT.
• Must meet departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire.
• Must complete the controlled substance module and initial moderate sedation module within six months of hire (where applicable).

• Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Standing.
