Job Description

• Position: Med/Surg Tele RN
• Shift: Rotating D/N shifts (3x12's, 7pm-7:30am/7am-7:30pm)

  • Typically consists of 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights.
• Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
  • 18 months permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments.
• Licensure: Must have a permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand.
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Requirements

• Must work at least every other holiday.
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment to be completed during orientation.
• Acceptable scores on both assessments are required.

Health and Safety Documents

• Physical Exam: Required within a year of start.
• Fit Mask: Required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years.
  • Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer.
  • Varicella vaccination or titer.
  • MMR vaccinations or titers.

Background and Compliance

• Background Check: Required prior to start of assignment.
• References: Two references required from employment within the last year.
• Application: Must include 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting.

Competencies and Testing

• Competency Exam: Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Drug Testing: Standard 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start and updated annually.

Onboarding Process

• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules prior to clearance to start.
• The onboarding process typically takes multiple days to complete.
