  • Per hospital policy, staff cannot work more than five shifts in a row
  • Weekend Requirement: Based on unit needs
  • Holiday Requirement: Based on unit needs

  • Unit: Intensive Care Unit Neonatal Lvl ll Meridian Hospital Flr 3
  • # of Beds: 13
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Premature ≥32 weeks, late preterm, sepsis, hypoglycemia, requiring oxygen (NC, Hi Flow NC, CPAP), NOWS/NAS, feeding difficulties
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips: May initiate, short term management prior to transport to higher level of care
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Dopamine, Epinephrine
  • Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift: House supervisor on 24/7. Charge RN each shift, usually has an assignment and covers high risk deliveries
  • Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: CNA for floor (L&D/PP/NICU) 4-5 days and nights/week
  • RT Equipment: CPAP used routinely; vents available for emergencies
  • Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: No
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided: Blue scrubs provided on unit
  • How many shifts of unit/department-specific orientation: Customized based on each traveler, typically 2-3 shifts
