- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Newborns to geriatrics. DKA, Sepsis, Respiratory failure, ETOH withdrawal, A fib RVR
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: ICU drips, sedation, intubation and management, reading cardiac rhythms, understanding of RT equipment
- RNs required to titrate drips: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Insulin, diltizem
- EMR: Meditech
- Charge Nurse on each shift: No
- Nurse aids/patient care techs on unit: No
- Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7: No Intensivist, Hospitalist in house during the day, We consult EICU on all ICU patients
- RT in ICU 24/7: No
- RT Equipment: Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow
- RNs role with RT equipment: RN is required to understand and manage RT equipment, especially at night when RT is not in house, unless there is an intubated patient
- Tele/Monitor Techs on unit: Yes - RNs must read and interpret
- RNs required to read their own strips: Yes
Job requirements
- Shifts Details: Rotating, 7a-7p, 7p-7a
- Self-scheduling or Block scheduling: Based on unit needs – staffing assistant to make schedule
- Weekend Requirements: based on unit need
- Holiday Requirements: based on unit need
- Call or standby requirement: No, unless unit is closed
- Floating Requirements: ICU nurses typically do not float unless the unit is closed and they're needed elsewhere
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Caribbean Blue
- Orientation duration: 2-3 shifts

- Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions
- Updated: 7/29/24; Days - weekends/holidays based on unit need + call (only if unit is closed)

The unit setup and the workload are so convenient. However, there is one staff in our team who is so lazy and has a toxic behavior which making our work heavier. She will comment and correct you, has an extremely high ego. But she doesn’t have a work ethics which makes her sound hypocrite.
