  • An RNFA is a RN with additional certification to scrub in and actually first assist in a procedure. They can cut tissue and tie and suture and all those sorts of things that are outside a RN or ST’s scope of practice. They are usually RNs that have worked in the OR as a circulator or a scrub RN so they’re a little more versatile. Our hope is to get a few RNFAs to introduce the role to the surgeons and so we can utilize them most to scrub but also fill gaps in our nursing staff.

About

Spokane is Washington's second-largest city, located 20 miles west of the Idaho state line. It offers an ideal mix of city attractions and outdoor adventure, enjoyed under frequent sunny skies. Summers are typically hot and dry and popular for hiking, fishing and golfing, while winters bring easy access to skiing, snowboarding and other snow sports. Less than an hour from Downtown, Mt. Spokane features numerous ski runs and a vast terrain park. You’ll also find many parks throughout the city, including Riverfront Park, with multiple vantage points for viewing Spokane Falls and Spokane River. It also hosts quite a few attractions, including public art, a carousel and the Numerica SkyRide that takes you over the magnificent cascades. The river runs right through Downtown Spokane, home to trendy pubs and eateries, indie boutiques, a theater and beautifully restored historic buildings.
