    Job details
  • 13 or 26 week contract option and 36 or 48 hr contract option!
  • 20-bed unit providing intensive care to adult patients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries (TBI), strokes, epilepsy, and other head traumas.
  • NSICU patients do not go to recovery room post-op; they will return to the unit for recovery.
  • Multi-care level unit and RNs should be prepared to care for up to five Med Surg patients.
  • EVDs placed at the bedside. EVD experience and joint commission stroke certified facility experience required.
  • GRID patients: EEG leads implanted in brain to detect seizures. These patients can be on the unit for up to three weeks.
  • Medical Surgical/Telmetry RN 2 years of prior Telemetry experience required (must have 2 years exp in large, urban hospital).
  • Drips are required on all floors.
  • First timers NOT accepted (will consider if the traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level l Academic Medical Center).
  • 100% NICOTINE FREE FACILITY.
  • Pending license accepted: Yes, but if license is not IN HAND at the time of submission then traveler will be booked six weeks out.
  • Scrubs: MANDATORY - RNs wear Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back.
  • Parking: Professionals can obtain a parking permit.
    Job requirements
  • 2 years of prior Telemetry experience required.
  • BLS required.
  • EVD experience required.
  • NIH Stroke Certification required as applicable per Unit Description.
  • Pending license accepted; license must be in hand at the time of submission.
    Unit specific information
  • Float within scope to meet facility needs.
  • 2 references from work within the past 2 years required.
    Additional Details
  • Government-Issued Photo ID Required
  • Locals Accepted: NO (candidate must be more than 100 miles from facility)
