- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 year Experience
- Traveler Experience: Unit Will Accept 1st Time Travelers
- Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
- Skills: Vents, IV Start, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Continuous IV sedation, CVA/Acute Stroke management, External ventricular drains (EVD), ICP Monitoring, Post Neurosurgery management, Care of Ventilated Patient, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Lumbar Drain experience & Arterial Line Management
- ***Strong Neuro experience, MUST BE 2 YEARS, NO LESS***
- *** INTERNAL NOTES ***
- ***Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for, this specialty***
- ***MUST have 2 YEARS in NEURO ICU, IF NOT PLEASE REDIRECT***
- ***STRONG Neuro Critical Care Background, not just general ICU. If they do not have, PLEASE DO NOT SEND!***
Job requirements
- RATIOS: Ratios 2:1 (can flex up to 3:1 in high census and nurse must be comfortable with this if needed). Average Daily Census 11-12
- SHIFT: *36 Hours Can Be Offered
- Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays!
- 12 HOUR NIGHTS; 18:45 - 07:15
- ***RTO: 7 days MAX for Aya Auto Offer***
- Call Requirement: NONE
- Float Requirement: YES
- Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
Schedule information
- Patient population: strokes (ischemic, hemorrhagic [SAH]), SDH, craniotomies, carotid stents, carotid endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, seizures, Depth electrodes, myasthenia gravis.
- Drains used: EVDs, LDs, hemovacs, Camino (ICP monitoring)
- Special Procedures / Unit Details: Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Scheduling Type: Per the Unit Needs
- UNIT ORIENTATION: 24.0 Hours; 2 days or 2 nights
- SCRUBS: Navy blue & White.
Unit specific information
- AHA or American Red Cross Only. AHA-RQI and AHA instructor cards are acceptable.
- PER DIEM - Required for Telephone Triage/Call Center
