  • Traveler will be expected to float between 3rd and 7th floors as needed

  • Charge nurse on each unit, who doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary
  • Traveler friendly facility, leadership treats travelers like permanent staff
  • Lots of travelers who extend their contracts
    Job requirements
  • Must have post procedural cardiac experience (cath lab, ablations, open heart)
  • Prefer PCU and Stepdown experience
  • Must be able to read and interpret tele and document it appropriately
  • Heparin & Insulin titration. Facility is willing to train if needed
  • Remote tele techs - Nurses expected to read and interpret tele, 2x per shift
    Schedule information
  • 7-7 shifts; Schedule made out for 6 weeks at a time
  • Scheduler works with travelers to create schedule
  • Travelers are asked to stay flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
  • Block scheduling is not guaranteed (Maximum of 5 shifts in a row)
  • Scheduler tries to group days together for night shift
  • Weekend shift requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts in 6 week schedule
    Unit specific information
  • 3rd Floor: 20 beds with a cardiac focus; Post-op procedural care
  • 7th Floor: 35 beds with a general tele focus; CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, post strokes, and more
  • RN experience with high respiratory needs including intermittent high flow, BiPap, & CPAP - RT to manage
  • Nurse aides/patient care techs on unit with typical ratios of 1:8
    Additional Details
  • Travelers are first to float
  • Travelers can be floated to any other MS, MS-Tele, or Tele unit within the hospital and at their sister facilities - Meridian & Nampa
  • Any color scrubs acceptable
  • Travelers are asked to be flexible to assist with covering holidays and gaps in permanent staff scheduling
