We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to float across multiple departments and specialties caring for complex and dynamic patient populations in a variety of both medical and surgical general care units and intermediate care (IMC) units.
Provide high-quality, evidence-based care utilizing critical thinking skills to evaluate and assess patients, recognize and escalate complications, and administer appropriate nursing interventions while demonstrating a commitment to patient and family centered nursing care.
Partner with dynamic multidisciplinary teams of nurses, nursing assistants, coordinated care roles, therapists, advanced practice providers, medical teams, and more, honing interpersonal communication skills and effectively delegating tasks as needed.
Serve as a mentor and role model with opportunities to be a preceptor for new nurses and students, as well as have the opportunity to be involved in strategic planning efforts, quality improvement, and Shared Governance.

Job requirements

Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles from assigned primary work site location.
Floating - Travelers are the first to float. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
Must have experience working in different Med/Surg units (cardiac, spine, neuro).
Floating experience preferred.
Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.

Schedule information

36 hrs/wk, Evening/Night, 12 hr shifts, Monday-Friday and every other weekend between the hours of 1900-0730 and some holidays.
Shift length during orientation week may vary between 4-12 hr shifts.

Additional Details

Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite.
Other transportation options are available: bus, park & ride, private parking, etc.
