Unit Description

• Unit Type: 37 bed Med/Surg unit
• Patient Populations:

  • Respiratory distress
  • Possible sepsis
  • UTI
  • Cellulitis
  • Change in mental status
  • Pain
  • Generalized weakness
  • Abnormal labs

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years; no first-time travelers
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider Certification preferred
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Unit-Specific Competency Exam

Preferred Qualifications

• Level I/II trauma experience preferred.
