- Only submit travelers who have minimum cardiac, thoracic, cardiovascular experience including heart and lung transplant experience. Make sure detail of this experience is noted in the resume.
- The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room prior to surgery, promotes the safety of the patient during surgery, provides assistance to the surgeon during surgery, cares for the patient during surgery and cares for the instruments and supplies used in surgery.
- The Surgical Technologist functions to promote the safety of the patient as a member of the surgical team.
- The incumbent possesses knowledge and skills required to assist in effectively caring for patients of all age groups (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
- The Traveler must have a permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile).
- Minimum two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required (looking for strong cardiac, thoracic, and transplant experience - including heart and lung).
- Ortho trauma, Eye, ENT, Neuro experience is helpful.
- The Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or a similar size hospital.
- Prior traveler experience highly preferred.
- Successfully completed a surgical technologist program, or two years' experience in the Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of completion of the program.
- Needs 2 completed references from a recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only from work performed in the last two years).
- The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or at different locations within the organization.
- During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be reassigned to another unit in order to complete the contract.
- UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Profiles will need to be submitted in the following format: .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx file types, or our IS department will be blocking them, and we will no longer receive the files nor be able to forward them internally to our hiring managers.
