Job Description

• Specialty: Med Surg, overflow unit, some oncology, post-surgical, observation
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• Patient Ratio: 1:6/7
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirements: As needed
• First-Timers Accepted: No
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (100-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted (must comply with NLC guidelines)
• Chemo Certification: A plus, but not required
• RTO Restrictions: All RTO must be included at the time of submission

Special Requirements

• Experience: Med Surg experience required
• Travel Experience: One year of travel experience required

Certifications Required

• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA or ARC only)
• BLS: Basic Life Support (AHA or ARC only)
• PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA or ARC only, required for specific units)
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs, except at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required within a year of start
• Core Competencies: Required annually for Case Managers
• Fit Mask: 3M N-95 fit test required prior to start

Health Documents Required

• Physical Exam: Required within one year of start
• TB Testing: True 2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within one year of start
• Immunizations: Proof of vaccinations for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella
• Flu Vaccine: Required prior to start for the 2024-2025 season
• COVID-19 Vaccination: Preferred, not required

Background and History Checks

• Background Check: Required within 60 days of start
• References: Two recent professional references required
• Education Verification: Required, diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Specific scrub colors for different roles; business casual for RN Case Managers
• Photo Badge: Must be submitted prior to start date
