Certification details
- Under general supervision, performs routine to complex nuclear medicine procedures utilizing radioactive materials and radioactive pharmaceuticals in accordance with established nuclear medicine guidelines and protocols.
- Performs radionuclide imaging of organs, organ systems, compartments physiologic functions, assays of body fluids, tissues and radio bioassays.
- Demonstrates and applies knowledge of Nuclear Medicine imaging.
- Demonstrates and applies knowledge of principles of radiation safety.
- Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established Nuclear Medicine protocols to achieve the highest quality image.
- Follows protocols specified by the radiologist.
- Educates patient, collects patients’ history, and communicates patient information to the radiologist.
- Enters complex data into the computer systems.
- Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure technical quality and image quality.
- Performs other duties assigned.
