Job Description

• Assess patients on admission, considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Reassess patients' health needs at least every shift and whenever warranted.
• Establish and update a plan of care based on comprehensive data.
• Administer medications (oral, topical, parental) following the 7 rights.
• Document effectiveness and any adverse effects of medications and treatments.
• Perform treatments and procedures adhering to nursing practices, hospital policies, and patient privacy.
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs.
• Analyze diagnostic data and communicate changes in patients’ clinical conditions to the healthcare team.
• Utilize SBAR communication for handoffs.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and evaluate patient care effectiveness.
• Follow hospital policies on patient identifiers, infection control, and safety goals.

Additional Requirements

• Certifications: ACLS Preferred, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience: 3 years of recent PCU/MS experience in an acute care facility; required to float to other units.
• Licensure: California RN License
• Technology: Epic experience highly preferred
• Shift Details: 3 NOC shifts, 12 hours each

Contract Length

• 181 days
