Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities specific to patient preference.
Advanced skills needed: Spinning babies helpful, STABLE also helpful.
Certifications Required: RN, ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal monitoring.

Schedule information

Scheduling requirements: 4 weekend shifts/month.
Floating policy: can float to m/b or outside department to task.

Number of Beds: 9 L&D, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs & 3 bed OBED
Unit staffing description: Unit Secretary and scrub tech, dedicated CRNA & midwife in-house 24/7, OBGYN on call.
Type of equipment: Documentation system: CPN and Meditech.
Patient Experience requirements: Remain above 75%.

Additional Details

We use a laborist team model with 24/7 midwives and dedicated CRNA and OB on call.
We perform couplet care in our postpartum unit to allow the newborn to never have to leave the bedside and promote breastfeeding with the addition of donor milk availability when needed.
We have an 8 bed level 2 NICU with NNP dedicated to the unit 24/7.
