High acuity PCU patient experience
Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
2 years of oncology experience preferred
Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
Previous travel experience preferred
Interpretation of dysrhythmias
Use of rapid response teams
Feeding tube care and management
Accessing Ports
Blood Product Administration
Central line care/management
Peripheral Line Care/Management
PICC line management
Starting IVs
Heparin Protocols
Manage Cardia drips- no titration
PCA
Titrate Cardiac drips
Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac
External CPAP/BIPAP
High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
Interpretation of ABGs
Nasal Cannula
Tracheostomy Management

Schedule information

No set schedule, no set weekends, no block schedule
Facility determines the complete schedule
Possibility of working every weekend
Must be flexible
Maximum 7 straight days off
14-week contract required if taking 7 days off

Unit specific information

18J is a 36 bed Oncology Telemetry unit
Over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care
Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare
