Job Description

• Position: ICU Float Pool Nurse
• Responsibilities:

  • Float to various units including MS/Tele/PCU/Overflow and PACU as needed.
  • Care for patients in high-acuity settings, including transplant units.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 2 years of nursing experience, with travel experience preferred.
• First-time travelers accepted: Yes, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Large hospital experience required.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH (National Institutes of Health Stroke Certification)

Required Skills

• Ventilator management
• IV start
• Intracranial pressure monitoring
• Telemetry
• Conscious sedation
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records

Unit Details

• ICU Float Pool Units:

  • 8SCCT (Neuro)
  • 7SCCT (Respiratory failure, Vent support, Hemodynamic instability)
  • 6SCCT/4SCCT (Acute myocardial infarction with complications)
  • 5SCCT (GU, GI bleeds, Environmental injuries, Shocks, Massive Transfusion)
  • Transplant float (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, Heart/Lung)

Additional Information

• Flu Vaccine Requirement: Must be completed by November 1, 2024, for candidates starting on or after October 28, 2024.
• COVID-19 Vaccine Policy: Full vaccination required, with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons.
• Background Check: Annual criminal background check required for all locations lived in the last 7 years.

Health Documents

• TB Testing: Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 1 year of start.
• Drug Testing: Mandatory drug screening required within 48 hours of signing the contract.
