Certifications Required

  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required for ER and RRT candidates)
  • BLS: Basic Life Support (required for all clinical candidates)
  • PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferably from AHA or ARC)
  • NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (as applicable)
  • TNCC: Trauma Nursing Core Course (as applicable)
  • Tech Cert Verification: National (as applicable)
  • State License Verification: Primary source online verification

Health Documents Required

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start
  • Vaccinations:
    • Tdap Vaccine
    • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (2-Step PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT within 12 months)
    • MMR Vaccines or Positive Titer
    • Hepatitis B Vaccination or Declination
    • Varicella Vaccines or documentation of disease
    • Drug Testing: 9 Panel Drug Screen
    • Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation (during flu season)
    • COVID-19 Vaccination (Dose 1 and 2 if applicable)
    • COVID-19 Booster (optional)

Additional Requirements

  • Background Check: Required upon hire
  • References: 2 Professional References (within 3 years of start)
  • Skills Checklist: Required annually
  • Fingerprinting: Required for RN's working in Rhode Island
