Job Description
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse.
- Traveler Experience: Unit does not accept first-time travelers.
- Local Candidates: Accepted with a rate difference.
- Required Skills:
- IV Start
- Telemetry
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and EKG rhythms
- Must have cardiac drip experience.
- Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed.
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cardiac procedures.
Job Details
- Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 max
- Daily Census: 28 (30 rooms)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Float Requirement: Required to float to other med-surg areas and cardiac units as needed.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
Patient Diagnoses
- Cardiac telemetry, including pre and post cardiac procedures (e.g., PTCA, coronary stenting, electrophysiology lab procedures, etc.), NSTEMI/AMI, and heart failure.
Unit Details
- Fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit with a high population of CHF patients and comorbidities.
- Bedside cardio-version may occur with an EP MD present.
- Frequent vital sign monitoring required for cardiac drips.
Unit Systems
- PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
Additional Information
- Scrubs: Any combination of navy and white.
- Interview Availability: Candidates must provide availability for interviews within the next 72 hours.
Required Competencies and Certifications
- EKG Testing (must pass prior to start).
- Various health documents including TB testing, flu vaccination, and background checks.
- Education verification for the highest degree earned.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Flu vaccination required by 10/31/24.
- COVID-19 vaccination status may be required based on facility policies.
Documentation Requirements
- Various accounting documents, certifications, and health documents are required prior to starting the assignment.
