- If working nights they will be alone. They need to be comfortable working on/stabilizing an infant if needed; we medivac any acute needs out.
- The Respiratory Therapist coordinates the care of patients with physicians, nurses, families, and other caregivers.
- The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, recommending, and following a pathway of therapy which may include invasive and non-invasive procedures.
- Obtaining and documenting diagnostic data are also required.
- The Respiratory Therapist supports and educates patient families/caregivers who must deal with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, and the psychosocial aspects of the condition.
Job details
- A minimum of 18 months of recent respiratory therapy experience in an acute care facility, with 3 years preferred.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure and/or a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentialed by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Graduation from an approved school of respiratory therapy.
- An Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited college is also required.

Schedule information
- The Respiratory Therapist coordinates the care of patients with physicians, nurses, family, and other caregivers.
- Assesses, recommends and follows a pathway of therapy which may include invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, airway management, intubation assist, high and low flow humidification, medication administration, oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry, PEP therapy, coughing and breathing exercises, chest physical therapy, cardio/pulmonary rehabilitation and patient education including smoking cessation.
- Obtains and documents diagnostic data such as arterial blood gasses and co-oximetry, pulmonary function, cardiac stress testing, cardiac event monitoring, pulse oximetry and desaturation studies, and ECG’s.
