Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. The role includes:

• Triage and focused assessment
• IV starts and medication administration
• Assisting with various procedures
• Discharge planning

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of EMTALA and ESI Triage
  • IV start skills preferred
• Additional Info:

  • No floating or call required
  • Blocked scheduling requests will be considered
  • 48-hour weekly guarantees are approved
  • EMR system used: Cerner

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
• Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care
