Job Description

• Position: CTU/Step Down RN (Cardiac Telemetry Unit)
• Unit Information:

  • 44 Bed Intermediate cardiac stepdown unit
  • Fast-paced environment with high patient turnover
  • Patient conditions include post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular issues, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacemaker, defibrillator, ablations, acute chest pain/myocardial infarction, and medical/surgical overflow (e.g., detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure)
  • Typical patient ratio: 1:4

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • Wisconsin RN License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • Must be able to pass EKG test in the first week of hire
• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in IMC/PCU/Telemetry
  • At least 1 year of strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU)
  • Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro Drips is mandatory
  • At least one completed travel assignment is required
  • 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience

Additional Information

• Shift Requirements: 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730)
• Float Requirements: Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and holiday
• Work Environment: Candidates should be hard workers, resilient, and able to manage change well. Must be able to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
