  • Traveler Experience: Unit WILL ACCEPT 1st time travelers
  • Skills: MUST have both L&D and Couplet Care experience. IV Start, Circulate, Telemetry. Experience in Mother/baby as well as labor and delivery required.
  • PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: Triage.
  • Target Ratios: L&D 1:1-2, Couplet care 1:3 (average) but could fluctuate up/down based on unit needs; 15 Rooms/ 17 beds.
  • PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Labor and delivery, antepartum, postpartum, newborn, gyn. 15 Rooms/ 17 beds.
  • SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: DRP unit. OB triage, labor, vaginal deliveries, C/S staff - circulator, recovery after vaginal and c/s deliveries, postpartum and newborn couplet care. Remote telemetry monitoring.
  • UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
  • UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hours; Hospital Orientation week plus 2-12 hour shifts on the unit; traveler must be available for classes each day.
  • SCRUBS: Provided
  • INTERVIEW AVAILABILITY: Manager WILL NOT OFFER without speaking to/interviewing the candidate first.
    Job requirements
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
  • Must have both L&D and Couplet Care experience.
  • Skills: IV Start, Circulate, Telemetry.
  • Experience in Mother/baby as well as labor and delivery.
  • Certs: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP.
    Schedule information
  • Shift: 12 Hour NIGHTS; 18:45 - 07:15
  • 36 hours can be offered.
  • Call Requirement: Call may be required if low census.
  • Float Requirement: occasionally may float but would not be likely to be frequent.
  • Weekend Requirement: Weekend Shifts Required: 8 shifts per contract.
    Unit specific information
  • Unit Details: DRP unit. OB triage, labor, vaginal deliveries, C/S staff - circulator, recovery after vaginal and c/s deliveries, postpartum and newborn couplet care.
  • Remote telemetry monitoring.
  • We are an LDRP unit, RNs will have either a labor patient or couplets.
  • Nurses recovering patients must sign off of strips and be able to recognize and treat dysrhythmias.
    Additional Details
  • AHA-RQI and AHA instructor cards are acceptable.
  • PER DIEM - Required for Telephone Triage/Call Center.
