Job Description

• Schedule: Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH).
• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in PCU / Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care.
• Responsibilities:

  • Placement on a unit based on the greatest need, which may include PCU or Med/Surg/Tele units.
  • Must be willing to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed.

Required Credentials

1. Ascension Specialty Exam

   • Must be completed prior to the first assignment and updated every 3 years.
   • Minimum passing score of 80% required.

2. BLS Certification

   • Must be AHA certified.

3. Nursys Verification

   • Must be completed within 30 days prior to start.

4. ACLS Certification

   • Must be AHA certified.

5. License/Certificate Verification

   • Current license verification required within 30 days prior to start.

6. Ascension Color Vision

   • Must be completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.

7. Ascension Core Competencies

   • Must be completed within a year of start and updated yearly.

8. NIH Certification

   • Group A updated yearly, Group B-F updated every 2 years.

9. Ascension EKG Exam

   • Must complete with a passing score of at least 80%.

10. Health Statement

    • Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.

11. Fit Test

    • Required for all travelers, preferred to be completed prior to start.

12. Vaccination Records

    • MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, and Tdap vaccinations are required.

13. 12 Panel Drug Screen

    • Must be completed within 30 days prior to start.

14. Ascension Skills Checklist

    • To be completed within one year of start; updated annually for specialty.

15. Ascension Criminal Background Check Results

    • Must be completed within 30 days of first assignment.

16. Ascension Employment Verification

    • Third-party verification for the past seven years.

17. Ascension Education Verification

    • Verification of education relevant to clinical work.

18. Ascension Confirmation of Assignment

    • Provide upon initial assignment and update upon each extension.

• Floating Requirement: Must be willing to float to different units as needed.
