Job Overview: Certified Surgical Technician

Location: Newton, Massachusetts

Job Description

• Schedule: 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours each, rotating shifts, possible weekends, no call, no holidays.
• Certification Required: NBSTSA certification is mandatory.

Required Credentials and Certifications

1. BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification

   • Required for onboarding.
   • Acceptable certifications: AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military.

2. License/Certificate Verification

   • Primary source verification of professional license and/or certification required within 30 days of start date.

3. Fit Test

   • N95 fit test required within 365 days prior to start date and updated annually.

4. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification

   • Must be certified; no exemptions allowed.

5. COVID-19 Vaccine

   • Completed primary vaccination series required; no exemptions considered.

6. MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) Vaccination

   • Documentation of two measles vaccines, two mumps vaccines, and one rubella vaccine required.

7. Influenza Vaccine

   • Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions considered.

8. TB Test

   • Documentation of TB skin test screening or negative QuantiFERON TB Test required within 3 months of start date.

9. Health Statement

   • Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA required within 365 days of start date.

10. MGB Criminal Background Check

    • Required for onboarding.

11. MGB Massachusetts CORI

    • Criminal history check required for the state of Massachusetts.

12. MGB Resume

    • Must include past 7 years of work experience and education.

13. MGB References

    • Two recent references required, with at least one from a supervisor or above.

14. MGB Skills Checklist

    • Required for submission.

15. MGB Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form

    • Required for all initial assignments and extensions.

16. MGB Education Verification

    • Verification of highest level of education achieved required.

17. MGB SSN Trace

    • Required for onboarding.

18. MGB National Sex Offender Check

    • Required for onboarding.

19. MGB Exclusion Checks

    • Required for onboarding.

20. MGB Submission Checklist

    • Required for submission.
