  • Minimum 2 years of experience - must be recent, within the past 6 months.
  • Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer, through RELIAS, only (with 2 MAX attempts).
  • There is also a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation (study guides will be provided with first day instructions.)
  • MUST HAVE a strong cardiac tele background, preferably 2 years.
  • Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters.
  • Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical.
    Schedule information
  • 12 hr shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a)
  • Ability to self-schedule; however this could change from time to time.
  • 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule.
  • Rotate in with the perm staff
  • No call required
    Unit specific information
  • # of beds: CRMC 60 ED Beds, MGMC 31 ED Beds
  • Ratios: 1 to 4
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/Tele
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone
  • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: ED charge nurse.
  • Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: ED PCTs available
  • RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): No Vents
  • Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Nurses must be able to read & interpret strips. No monitor tech in the ED.
  • Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 shifts orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus.
    Additional Details
  • Would float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and CRMC/MGMC Eds as needed.
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy
  • May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medicaton administration.
  • Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment.
  • 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule; first to float, could float to sister facility Mercy Gilbert
