    Job requirements
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, generally patients that arrive through the ER, Mixed Medical/Surgical along with cardiac and stroke patients
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, octreotide, insulin, maintenance dosages of IV meds (non-titratable)
    Schedule information
  • Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700 / 6 week scheduling. Scheduling is done by unit schedulers
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirements: Will rotate with perm staff
  • Floating Requirements: Med/Surg and to all areas in the hospital, depending on abilities, including ICU/ED for appropriate types of patient care

  • Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes
  • Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:14
  • Specialty Equipment Available: Code Carts, LUCAS Machines, hoyer lift, Sit and Stand
  • Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit?: Tele yes - RNs must be able to read and interpret
  • Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue
  • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: First week is classroom orientation, then 2- 12 hour shifts
    Additional Details
  • This is a high flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Looking for positive nurses willing to work with others as a team to overcome challenges.
  • Having a unit secretary 2-3 days/week and a stocking clerk 3 days/week
  • Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
  • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
