Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36

Weekend Hours: As needed

Call Requirements: None

Contract Duration – 13 weeks

Requested time off – up to 5 days in each 13 weeks

Weekends – standard expectation of every other full weekend

Holidays – work at least one of the major winter holidays

Equipment: CRT machine, Balloon pump, External Vent Device

EMR: Cerner / EPIC

Type of Patients on Unit: Cardiac directly from OR, CABG

Must Have Skills/Experience: Must be VERY competent, MUST be able to recover CABG directly from OR independently; Stepdown experience (1yr+), must start and manage Ext Vent Device, run CRT machine

Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans

Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions

Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity

Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention and management

Provides patient care by reviewing providers orders; communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team

Resolves patient issues by conferring with parties involved

Maintaining standards of professional nursing care

Promotes a culture of safety

Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining patients; documenting patient physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors

Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions

Preparing patient for and assisting with exams as needed

IV therapy competency including care for central lines

Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations

Appropriate supervision and delegation of duties to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel and other ancillary staff

Assures compliance with Joint Commission standards regarding National Patient Safety Goals and other areas of accreditation
