Job details

Registered Nurse (RN) position for Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines, as part of the Central Iowa (Des Moines) hospital system. This role involves contributing professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process.

Job requirements

A minimum of 2 years current Labor & Delivery (L&D) and/or Obstetrics (OB) experience is essential.
Travel experience is strongly encouraged.
Traveler must have the ability to attend deliveries.
Willingness to float to OB/L&D on-site, or to ILH/IMMC.
Work history/resume, skills checklist within 1 year, and a copy of license verification are needed for application.

Schedule information

EMR system to be used is EPIC.
Overtime may apply if scheduled over 36-40 hrs/week; OT billed after 40 hrs. If scheduled 48 hrs/week, OT billed after 48 hrs.
Day shift with possible floating across Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran & Iowa Methodist campuses.

Unit specific information

The maternity center allows mothers to stay in one room for the duration of their stay, and includes a newborn nursery with one continuing care neonatal bed. The surgery department is well-equipped and works with experienced staff and Patient Care Facilitators.

Additional Details

Travelers must be COVID vaccinated. Exemptions for Medical/Religious reasons can be provided upon request.
Candidates within 60 miles of the facility location will have a reduced bill rate by 10%.
Traveler will be required to float across all campuses; Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran & Iowa Methodist.
