General Information:
Beds: 226 bed
Min. years of experience: 2-3 years acute care (SW & CM experience)
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types:
All areas within hospital NICU, ICU, PEDS, MS, Telemetry, Oncology
Bonus if they felt comfortable in ED environment.
SW do not do DCRs in the ED.
Patient Ratios:
Matrix for staffing 1:15, assigned to a unit with a RN.
Required Licensure & Certifications:
Is State Licensure and/or National Certification required?
WA Licenses (LICSW)
NO BLS
CPI/MOAB
Skills required:
Management of a case load of 15-18 patients and this will require time management skills to prioritize and complete tasks.
General skills as a social worker
Soft skills: Multitasking, documentation skills, communication skills, ability to adapt, flexibility (change different floor/change assignment), move with the flow.
Suicide assessments.
Experience with these social determinants is a huge plus. Able to work with a diverse group. Comfortable with homeless and bilingual and work within the expectations of the hospital
Support on the Unit:
RN
Team Lead (SW or RN) at all times
Interdiscipliary rounds
Office located near Hospitalist providers
2 Experience SW on the team
Technology/Equipment:
EMR: EPIC
Floating: If yes, where?
Throughout hospital
Orientation:
NEO
Depending on experience - Shadow SW/RN for a week; within second week to start being independent with support
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Weekend work will be expected and although the unit will try to work on EOW, that an flex depending on the staffing needs of the unit.
On call? If so, what is that schedule? No call
Holiday Expectations: Staff holidays like weekends, 1 summer or 1 winter
RTO: send to NM for approval
Shift times: 10H 0700-1730
potential for overtime, offered to perm staff first
Schedule cycle: Initial schedule would be prescheduled; No self-scheduling – Would discuss with scheduler.
4-week schedule cycle. Schedule is posted 3-4 weeks prior to start of schedule cycle.
Other notes:
Scrub Color: Any color scrubs/business causal. Jeans on Fridays/Weekends
Parking: Free in designated areas
Culture: Small hospital, small team. Looking for flexibility and team player.
