Job Description:
Ballad Health is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for its Medical Surgical Oncology unit. This is a 13-week contract position with night shift scheduling options (3x12 or 4x12). The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and ensuring adherence to facility policies. Travelers will not administer chemotherapy as part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in a medical-surgical oncology setting.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with best practices.
• Float to other units as needed.
• Work every other weekend.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical-surgical or oncology nursing.
• Active AHA BLS certification.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• All travelers must reside at least 100 miles away from the facility.
Additional Details:
• General orientation begins on Sundays. Online CBLs (computer-based learning modules) must be completed before the start date.
• The facility may cancel/call off one shift biweekly without financial penalties if census decreases.
• Additional shifts picked up beyond the scheduled commitment may be flexed based on hospital needs.
Vaccination Guidelines:
• Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions only).
