Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - IMC (Intermediate Care Unit) Location: 601 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102 Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks) Shift: Night Shift, 4x12-Hour (18:30 - 07:00) Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) for night shifts. The ideal candidate will have prior travel experience, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to float across various units as needed. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment with a focus on medical and neuro patients. Responsibilities: • Deliver direct nursing care to IMC patients with medical and neuro diagnoses, including stroke patients. • Maintain a patient load of 1:4 in a 12-bed unit. • Collaborate with hospitalist services and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. • Float to all Progressive Care Units (PCU), Medical-Surgical Units, and ICU for PCU assignments as required. • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including proper documentation in the Epic system. • Assist in crisis intervention situations and respond appropriately. • Provide patient education and support to families. • Ensure compliance with infection control and safety regulations. Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an IMC or similar setting. Travel Nursing: Previous travel nursing experience required. Certifications: • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) • Basic Life Support (BCLS) • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) • CPI preferred but not required Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Epic experience required. Floating: Must be willing to float to PCU, Med-Surg, and ICU for PCU assignments. Weekend Requirements: Minimum of 6 weekend shifts required over the contract period. Orientation: 2 bedside shifts in addition to general hospital orientation. Support Staff: Free Charge Nurse (CN) and Patient Care Technician (PCT) standard barring call-offs. Patient Population: • Medical IMC (Gastrointestinal Bleed, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Respiratory Diseases) • Stroke and Neuro Patients Scheduling: No block schedules available; weekends and holidays required. Scrub Color: Any solid color (no logos).
