Job Description: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Float at AnMed Health Medical Center Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Float Specialty: Med-Surg Unit: 6 South, Post Surgical Med Surg Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Location: AnMed Health Medical Center, 800 N Fant St, Anderson, SC 29621-5793 Job Duration: 13 weeks Compensation and Benefits: • Weekly Gross: $2,155.00 Per Week • On W2(Taxable): $720.00 Per Week ($20/hour) • Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,435.00 Per Week Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical Surgical Float at AnMed Health Medical Center will provide direct patient care to a diverse range of patients on the 6 South Med-Surg unit. The role includes floating to other Med-Surg and Telemetry units as required, offering a dynamic and varied work experience. The nurse will be responsible for patient assessments, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with a healthcare team to ensure excellent patient care. The position requires flexibility, strong Med-Surg experience, and the ability to adapt to multiple units. Key Responsibilities: • Provide high-quality nursing care for medical-surgical patients, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and conducting assessments. • Manage patient care plans and assist in post-surgical recovery, ensuring patients are closely monitored for complications. • Float between 5 Med-Surg units and 4 Telemetry units as needed, ensuring continuity of care across departments. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s needs. • Document patient information accurately and promptly using the Epic system. • Assist with patient education, discharge planning, and coordination of care. • Respond to patient emergencies and provide rapid intervention as part of a multidisciplinary team. • Participate in unit activities, patient rounding, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications: • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina or Compact State (must be in hand prior to start). • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. • Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience required. • Experience in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment preferred. • Ability to float between units as needed. • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. • Telemetry experience is a plus. Work Schedule: • 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). • Every other weekend required. • Floating required to 5 Med-Surg units and 4 Telemetry units. Miscellaneous Information: • Scrub Color: Royal Blue. • Charting System: Epic. • Parking: Free parking available for staff. Vaccine Requirements: • COVID-19 vaccine is required, with medical/religious exemptions allowed. • Flu vaccine is required, with medical/religious exemptions only.
