Registered Nurse – Telemetry Location: UT Health Tyler Hospital, Tyler, TX Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 04/07/2025 Shift: 4/3x12 Days/Nights (07:00 – 19:00) Job Summary The Telemetry RN will provide specialized care for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. The role involves working in a fast-paced medical-surgical telemetry unit, managing a diverse patient population. Responsibilities Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms Administer cardiac drips (non-titration) and blood products Manage telemetry remote monitoring and dysrhythmias Provide wound care and manage wound vacs Start IVs, manage PICC lines, central/peripheral lines, and heparin products Care for patients requiring CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen therapy, and feeding tubes Float to units of equal or lesser acuity as needed Requirements Experience: Minimum 2 years in telemetry required Licensure: Active RN license (state-specific or compact) Certifications: BLS required Documentation System: Prior Epic experience required 1st Time Travelers: Not accepted Patient Ratio: 1:6 Additional Information Facility Type: Acute care hospital Unit Size: 36 beds Weekend Requirement: Half of contract weekends Local Restrictions: Travelers must not reside in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties
