The Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse establishes satisfactory interpersonal relationships with co-workers and colleagues, patients, families and significant others. . The ideal candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Assesses and evaluates patient care needs and applies critical thinking skills in patient care management • Demonstrates clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety in the patient population served • Responds effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, to communications from patients, families and significant others as well as subordinates, colleagues, department heads, supervisors, physicians, etc. • Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement • Provides detailed patient education to patient and family members during inpatient stay and at the time of discharge following prescribed teaching plans.
