Our client in Pelham, NY is seeking a NYS licensed Occupational Therapist!
Located in Pelham, our client provides preschool special education programs with 8:1:2 and 12:1:2 classes.
The client is seeking Occupational Therapist specializing in pediatrics to join their dynamic multidisciplinary team. The Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in remediation efforts for children with various disabilities and delays, focusing on areas such as fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual-perceptual skills, and self-help skills. Using diverse strategies like sensory integration and adaptive techniques, the Occupational Therapist helps students achieve their full potential by contributing to Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) and working towards set goals throughout the school year. This position offers a full-time opportunity , from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist (OT) include:
- Providing and directing occupational therapy services based on students' IEP mandates.
- Developing treatment plans to meet specific goals.
- Adhering to occupational therapy principles, NBCOT policies, and state regulations.
- Collaborating with other professionals like SLPs, PTs, school psychologists, behavioral teams, and classroom staff for positive treatment outcomes.
- Working closely with parents, teachers, and professionals involved in the child's care to develop and monitor IEP services.
- Ensuring accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork, including daily session notes, progress reports, and reviews.
- Participating in meetings and consultations with education staff and the multidisciplinary team to address child needs and progress updates.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Occupational Therapist license.
- Master’s Degree from an accredited program.
- NPI number.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- New Graduates with pediatric experience will be considered.
- COTAs are encouraged to apply and will be considered.
