Cons

You have no say in your schedule and they take advantage of that. Staff will not switch with you. Travelers are first to float as helping hands or 1:1 but the units will try to give you an assignment or have you pass all their meds. I’ve only ever done OB so I was very uncomfortable with that. You can be floated multiple times a night to different units by the house supervisor and multiple times a week because they don’t have a lot of deliveries. I had a 48 hour contract and would be floated sometimes all 4 of my shifts. Some of the staff nurses are bitter about having travelers and make comments about your pay rate if you need help or ask a question they assume you should know.

Pros

Nicole was very helping and always proficient with reaching out and even going above and beyond when the facility itself was slacking. When the facility canceled all contracts the day before start date she found me another position within the same week. I would recommend her 10x over.

Cons

Can’t think of one
