General Information
Beds: 39 MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU mixed unit
Minimal Experience:
2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferred
If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel and have significant RN experience outside of ICU, please have CRT send to management team for approval
Will you accept a first-time traveler? No. Minimum one prior travel assignment
Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility
Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
Patient Types:
Complex ICU patients ranging from Surgical, Medical, Cardiac, Neuro and Trauma
Cardiac experience is required
Will need proficiency in CRRT, balloon pump, Impella, and care of the immediate post-op open heart patient (CABG/TAVR)
Other common diagnoses include but are not limited to: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma heavy trauma population
Patient Ratios:
RN: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 (rare) acuity dependent
Required Certifications:
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
TNCC (REQUIRED) please decline travelers that would not be willing to obtain this certification prior to arrival
Required Education:
Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
